i cant wait till im done with school/company training and on my own. shifting is so much smoother w/o the clutch.

OP it really is very easy, though you do need to make sure it goes all the way into gear.

to be blunt, i cant stand double clutching.

plenty of grinding happens with clutch use, so i fail to see how anyone would be able to tell upon teardown.

It makes no difference if you float or double clutch, it is just whatever you prefer. But remember, clutches are self adjusting now and they adjust by being used. So I use the clutch every so often.

New drivers/students who are required to double clutch don't need to worry about floating gears. They need to concentrate on double clutch techniques and the velvet smooth shifting of gears up and down in all conditions using this required method. Plenty of time to work on floating if you stay with driving. Besides, plenty of very experienced drivers double clutch in some driving conditions, and float the rest of the time. But please, if you are new to this, there are plenty of things to stress over, don't knot your knickers worrying over shifting techniques--learn the one you are asked/required to learn.
