CDL Permit today

Thanks to everyone for their words of encouragement. Received my CDL permit today. Back to the classroom though tomorrow. 8 hours of logs! What do you think LogsRus? Is 8hrs a good start?

I know the permit is a baby step towards the license and further training, but it is a big relief. The trainers so far are great. They treat everyone with respect, and it is a very professional atmosphere there. Only 1 young girl in admin does not have a CDL. But, that may be normal for these schools.

BTW-- 33 started, 31 remain
Lost 1 to physical, and the other I don't know.

8 hours should be a good class! It sounds longer than Martimans
You make sure you tell them what I say is right and they are wrong
No I am kidding take notes though. I am interested in things they say, maybe I will learn something (doubt it, but maybe)

CONGRATULATIONS! You are almost a professional

Well, I took lots of notes for you, but I don't have them with me. I was pleased to see the instructor was very serious about logs. He went through everything except split logging and suggested we get some experience before adding that(Have I heard that somewhere before? Hmmmmm) You will be happy to know I got a 100 on the logging test. Thank you for your help.

Thanks to everyone for the support. Classroom work is finally over. WoooHooo! So far I really like the school and I am anxious to get on the range. We still have only lost 2 students so far. The instructors have been patient and helpful. I ended up with a 97 average for classroom tests. But, now I need to do that in driving.
A pencil is easier to shift than a 10 speed!

Tomorrow begins all the range work. I will try to update again next week.

Hmmm I don't know where you heard to get some experience first. Yeah keep practicing when you get on the road and then grab an extra log book and put it to practice in real life. Make sure you put on the front cover of the log book not real logs just learning split breaking or something to that affect. I am glad you had a good instructor (maybe I trained him).

Congratulations: It sounds like you are doing great and you will do fine on the driving stuffy!

I was upset about this post,I could not add any smilies because all the above comments took up the available smilies in a post.
