Anyone on here from South Florida that can give advice?
Hey guys,I'm having a tough time here. I live in South Florida/Palm Beach County and just can't seem to find the answers I'm looking for. I've been researching all the big companies that offer company sponsored training and can't seem to find the ones that will hire out of my area. Am I basically screwed because of where I live? I was set on FFE after seeing that they hired from Florida on a trucking job website but found out that they DO NOT hire from Florida after talking to a recruiter.Which does'nt make any sense since they have a terminal in Miami and Winter Haven I'm almost ready to give up .Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated !

basically, YOU ARE SCREWED.
Florida is a place like the north or south poles. life may exist, but it is desolate.
i will put in a "PM" to a Floridah resident that i know, give him time to come here and respond...

PM Big Brah in the Linkamerica threads. He might be able to help since he lives in Miami.

10/4 everyone I kinda figured the same thing. I looked at Swift as well and low and behold, I seen on a website somewhere showing that they hire down to the Port Saint Lucie area and no further south and I'm only like an hour and a half more south
I hate South Florida ! lol Thanks for the heads up "Shaggy" I'll try and get in contact with him...I just need to get started with a company that will train me and get my first year over with so I can hook up with my dad and run as a team. He's with SuperService now but they don't offer training so I'm kinda stuck...

Yeah. It's tough in that area. I looked at getting hired from Long Island. That's the same problem, living in the corner of a territory. You need to be in the middle and all kinds of opportunities will open up. Moved to SC (for other reasons) and lots of options. It's too hot down there anyway!
