i think just about every state is a no idle state now.

some of the truck stops even have signs saying no idle over 5 minutes.

in dallas. you have to pay to park and no idle. 10 years ago you could just roll in.

I hope ATA fights for a new idle law alot of these trucks dont have any auxiliary units FMCSA wants drivers to be rested so they change up our HOS but cant get a good nights rest because you cant idle and sweating or freezing your ### off in the sleeper doesnt make sense

I don't think any No-Idle law was written with the intent a driver, with no APU, had to NOT idle while taking his mandatory 10 hour break, in excessively high or low temps. I've seen it 95 degrees in Phoenix at 10 PM. The biggest problem is the carriers penalizing drivers bonus pay because they spent 2 weeks in August stuck running Between El Paso/Dallas and So Cal.

hell i rolled in a truck stop in LA the other day and had to get a ticket just to get fuel. luckily i didnt get charged for it. but i dont care what anyone says or does if it is too hot or too cold to sleep you better believe my truck is runnin.

You give CA way too much credit. A full 1/3 of the state does not have reliable utility service during severe winter storms, yet you can no longer build a new home anywhere in the state with a wood stove. And it probably won't be long before you're completely banned from using the existing ones (there are already area bans). You've got legislators representing the Socal, SF bay, Central Valley, and Sacramento areas assuming that because they haven't lost a full day of power in 5 years, the same must be true in Nubieber, Ca. I'd like to see any one of them spend a week off the grid at 20 below.

That's news to me. I live in Placer Cty and use a wood stove. Sac is a different story, however...

However, today, for example, I can't see the Sutter Buttes from where I live 'cause the ozone is so thick- as it can be on a hot summer day. So, the law is there for a reason...But I looked up the law and there's gray in it. Enforcement is supposed to show some discretion when it's very hot or cold. But if they don't, then your only option is court, I suppose...
