Wondering if anyone has had an interview and been told you have to do a simulator for 2 1/2 hours then a road test ,, Does anyone know what it is like to do the simulator? Thank-you. Brenron999

Jb hunt has a simulator But I dont think the rookies use it. I got to try it and its a blast unless your doing it for a score. then you have to get serious. The guy running the controls can do anything he wants, obsticals, weather road conditions and control the pedestrians. When I tried it it was for fun and my son had trees chasing me, then changed the weather several times and high winds and icy roads on a 8% downgrade around a hairpin turn was not fun.

If you have to do a simulator its almost like driving a truck.

It's a video game, and nothing at all like driving a real truck.

the truck in the simulator doesn't give you any road input, and you typically don't shift the gears either and it doesn't turn like a truck at all..

it is more like one of those racing games you sit in, good luck and pay attention

The one I did was a full simulator all the functions were there and required when you were being tested on it. Its a big video game but it has some real life situations.

I guess if the company you sign on with has a simulator and want you to take the test then that's what you will have to do. Guess they would rather you crash the simulator than a real truck. I have heard that its just like driving a real truck but have never personally driven in a simulator.
