learn the ropes of this ruthless industry before you think of ever buying a truck. Especially down where you are, its a craphole down there.

I agree. Learn everything you can. Then I would say run the road.

You should first get experience on otr and know how the the things work for at least a year or 2. And maybe if you want to continue otr and think it will be good for you then stay otr for as long as you want. There are many local companies to and some require 1 year experience or more. Most drivers out there start otr and then they go local or regional if they want to get home more often and they have family and kids. Otr is great and im loving it here and also local would be good. Its whats best for you and how it will workout for you

He would fit right in down there. Most owners down there never drove a truck. Look at the rates...

Yea being close to Miami will make it really hard for you. My advice to you would be go to a trucking school in Florida close to your home and after you complete the course apply with a company. Maimi Lakes would be a great one for you because their course is 320 hours and if a company is hiring down in your area then they will accept you. I only know 2 companies that would hire you out of that area is Stevens Transport, but first complete a school in Florida first. And then CRST Expedited, they will hire you from where you at and put you in a school

If your currently injured then you should get back on the road when your feeling better. As for getting hired again it would be hard for the area that you are in. You should try US Xpress but they do mostly team driving. They hire from Miami to. And try contacting Stevens Transport to because they hire drivers with CDL in your area.
