    4 Companies, 4 Hard Choices

Hello, my name is James and I was interested in 3 companies to drive for and to go to school and get training from. First is Prime Inc. What I love about them is their school and training is mostly out on the road. I heard they are a good training company. Their training takes 2-3 months. They have a nice payscale starting at .34 and lightweight drivers get a additional 5cpm. Their drivers average 2500-3000 miles. Nice equipment to drive. And I heard they treat their drivers great their. Second is Stevens Transport. I heard their school is 3 weeks and 8 weeks on the road. They are on of the best training companies out there. They start solo drivers at .26 but get 2600-3100 miles. I love their equipment the T700 and Peterbilt 587. They are around 17 months I hear. And sounds like they treat their drivers good to. 3rd company is FFE. I was interested to get my CDL thru their school. I heard they are a great company. School is 18 days and 6 weeks training out on the road. Pay scale is good for beginners starting at 29cpm. They average 2500-2700 miles every week. Their equipment looks great to, Freightliner Century and Cascadia's. And the last is CRST. Dont know much about them. But their pay scale is very low but they told me their drivers get miles and out on the road alot. Dont know much about their training and school. But sounds like a great company to. Out of the 4 which company is the best? Any advice would help thanks

I am currently in talks with Stevens. I have been told it was a great training company and had great equipment. The one negative I found was that they run alot to the northeast. Thats a big negative. Prime i have found out through my research is also a good company but they are very strict. FFE I dont know much about. IMO you should try and stay away from reefers though. I know I am.. CRST stay away from. I have heard nothing but bad things about them..Now I like to make my own decisions but where there is smoke there is fire..Be very leery of CRST..

Might want to take a look at May Trucking as well? The drivers in the May section on this forum seem to do well and like running with them. However, you have to have your CDL before you go to them. Then they train you for 2-4 wks.

May Trucking do sound like a nice company. Just need a CDL before you go
