No, I don't think your situtation is bad Dna, if it works for you, that's all that really counts....I also work for Schneider now, so I'm not getting rich myself..I also don't have a family... So I can pay bills easily, but I'm far from getting rich,,Way far...I'm also out of the Dallas terminal..The tornado didn't help me financially either when it knocked all my windows out of my car. But, I'm still here..so am alright, but I'd like to do way better than I am now,..Can't see it happening with one of these big companies. Wish my DBL Tracy was still there though..Oh well...someday......But No DNA,,,,I don't think you are in a bad situation...Okay? Are We Good....

No worries. These big companies run people through the ringer and then you get people blasting the whole industry. The problem is the companies and the people that can't see beyond the first year. My first year was great but the pay is the same today as it was ten years ago.

I deleted that. I was out of line. My apologies and thanks for clarifying.

Also, It seems like I always had a lot of good miles when i first went to work there, and now it seems like they give the good miles to the newbies...and I'm like 90% on time.....Also my tractor has 878,000 miles,...That son of a gun is about ready to lay down.

    HELP!!
My quick "Acid Test" for how a company feels about it's drivers is to look at the benefits. If the benefits stink, then they don't give a hoot about their drivers!

To the OP, a few questions. Where are ya'll going to school? Do you realize 70k in Central Florida is substantially higher than average? Con-way Truckload is a solid option for ya'll.

well, its very deep.24years of truckin.many years of let downs, put downs break downs.wife almost leaving me ,kids growing up without their daddy, first solo road trip i totalled a k100.didnt know if id ever get behind the wheel again..but ive got diesel runnin through my veins.trial and error to say the least.flats, vans, refers, tanks, dbls, dumps, gunite rigs....24yrs and 24plus companys half of them are as o/o for 9 years but still.its hard to justify to a employer.wish i would have came to landstar in 1995.my life would be a bit different.always had wrenches to fall back on now thats my hobby.if you take the wife and kids and every reason i need/want to go home out of the equasion(thats not spelled right),i'd be very happy.i do love my job and what i do.im very proud of what i've done and how dam hard it 's been to get here.always need more money, gotta struggle to keep every thing at home up and running.sometimes it gets me down when the pile seems to always get bigger, but i keep on strokin.WHAT A LONG STRANGE TRIP ITS BEEN
