As usual you have the misinformation about paying thousands to CDL mills being a requirement . There are companies and city , county , and state departments that will train drivers to get a CDL . They don't have the high turnover of OTR carriers either .
Many companies know CDL mills never fail anYone and turn out many rejects so little respect is given for their certificates.
The OP would get better information if a location was given .

I am not misinformed no company will hire him with a permit. I dont care where he gets his license insurance companies want documented proof of hours of training to pass his CDL. If I had it to do over again a local college would be the way to go

Rick G and I have a history of contempt for each other so please read past that

Again you say NO company . You are dead wrong . All you know is what bottom feeders do . I have worked for a couple of companies that trained drivers with permits . Those companies paid a whole lot more than BFI's .
The contempt statement is also false . I have no contempt for you . You are the one that sends the name calling pm's that don't deserve a response.

Just about anyone will TRAIN anyone with or without a CDL. Stevens, CRST, Millis, FFE, etc.... You will have a $3000 to $5500 loan to pay them back with unless you stick out with there contract for the 1 year to 3 years. I recommend is do A LOT of reviews on companies you are interested in. Stevens seems to have the best training but they are the lowest paying. Also as a new OTR driver you will be out 3-4 weeks at a time and only home 3-4 days a month. If you are married, have young kids OTR is NOT for you.

The only local outfits I know about with in-house training are those that promote from within. I have never seen one hire someone off the street and give them a CDL.

Ok guys yall are confusing me lol. Im not gonna say where i got my cdl permit from because of the way some of the instructors thought it was nesscary to yell at you to train you. So i came home for a emergency and am wanting to go to another company that would accept my dot card and my permit i just recently got. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
