Hello all, My name is James. Ive been wanting to get into trucking for awhile now. Im 26 and live in huntsville alabama. I drive a truck now but not a big truck. I love traveling and driving. Our parts truck that works for excel asks me every day have I looked into a cdl. Im not quite sure where to start. Ive been driving a stick since I was 16. Im sure its quite different in a 18 wheeler. But willing to learn. My question is what would be the best company ( if there is any out there ) to do paid cdl traning with working for them for X amount of years. I was looking at aviertt express. Id like to do regional. Or something that gets me home every now and then on the weekend. Ive sat in my grandpas truck he works for US Xpress and I thought that was the coolest thing ever. He has a automatic volvo. Sitting up that high seems like a daunting task but Im sure Id get used to it over time. But enough of me ranting. Any info on Which company would be the best that people think would do paid cdl traning and work for would be helpful.

I would go wit a company like Swift or maybe Prime for a start. You will need to sign a contract to work for them a year then you can move on. Don't look for a get home every weekend job just starting out those are few and far between and usually reserved for exp drivers.
