i am so disappointed with myself

I went for my cdl test today and i passed my yard test. But at the end of my road test i hit a curb which meant i failed. I have to wait a month till i could be tested again. All i need to do is pass the road test. I was supposed to go for my orientation this upcoming wednesday with roehl but I had to call them and let them know i will need to rescduale for another time. I feel so stupid. I hope roehl will still want me. I am in a bad financial situation and i needed to pass it so i could start my new career. I feel like I am a big disapointment to my wife. I hope tthis month I have to wait will go fast.

Do not let it get you down. You did not let your wife down. You are still working towards your goal. Just a minor set back and you never know this may have worked out for you better in the long run. Could get a better offer, different trainer, etc. Thing is don't look back. Move forward and don't worry about it. Testing can be stressful. You passed everything and you did not hit the curb till the end of the test. All you have to do is relax and take the tester for a smooth ride. Good luck to you, you can do it.

Your welcome! When you test again; just relax. Don't consider it a test. Think of it as you are training him and showing him what a smooth ride is.

I don't know what state you're in, but if possible, look into other testing sites, and there may be another site that you can test at, sooner. unless the 1 month wait is state-mandated, in which case, my apologies.

If he was going to orientation next week I would say that this test was through his trucking school.

if everyone here were to be as dissapointed as you are every time they hit a curb, there wouldn't be enough physcologists in this country to fulfill the masses. heck, so what, you hit a curb, and failed..........its just too bad a whole month(?) till your next test...?? now that stinks.

next time, pay closer attention to the mirrors, and your speed. even "creeping along" can be too fast at times, when inches count.

you'll pass next time, or my name ain't Rex Dunbar..........

ok, my name ain't really Rex Dunbar................but you'll pass...............

It's good you feel that way

It's good you're feeling down about hitting the curb. So what. You failed the #### test. This may help make you a better driver in the coming months ahead. Next time you'll pay more attention to all aspects of your driving, meaning you won't fall into the class of "robot driver"--a guy who takes his driving ability for granted and starts to forget his training.

I've heard of guys paying thousands on trucking school, passing their licensing tests, getting jobs with good companies, and driving their trucks like their pick-ups. Some of those guys sooner or later remove fenders from Pete 379s (it's ALWAYS a 379, it seems) because they aren't as good at driving as they have convinced themselves they are. Of course, they then lose their jobs, putting themselves back at square one. And they probably have to wait several years on the next trucking job.

So what if you have to wait another month. It'll fly by.

It means she's slow
It's a typical company truck
It's just all show and no go

I'm gettin' passed by Yella
And even Overnite
I'm gettin' passed by ever' body in sight
46 days on the road
And I'm not gettin' home tonight

No, my hometown's nowhere in sight
And if you think I'm pissed off
You're right
46 days on the road
And I'm not gettin' home tonight

Love pissing off those trucking company insiders.
