| Changing CDL from one state to another Is it a hassle to change your CDL after moving from one state to another? Do you have to go through the whole testing process again? |

| I think I remember seing a question on an (pre)application or somewhere else, asking if the applicant has a license from more than one state. I always thought, " Wow, wouldn't that be kinda illegal? " Just collect licenses from multiple states in case one gets dirty. I have been told though that for schooling purpouses, a person attending an out-of-state school can attain a learner's permit from the host state, (with-out establishing residency) then after passing the road test, a Class A license is granted, but the driver has to transfer back it to a home-state license within 30 days. This info comes from the school's program co-ordinator. |
