I'm not sure this probably isn't the correct area for this post but I wasn't sure where else it would fit...
So i have a question about having a suspended license on your MVR. I didn't say HAVING a suspended license because the situation is kinda weird. I lived in New York about 5 years ago and I moved out of the state, when i moved I had a lapse in insurance but I did not know about it. 5 years later, when getting my CDL permit, i found out about the ticket from DMV because they said i had to take care of the ticket first, but that my license with them was valid. I called up NY and paid the whole $25 for the ticket from 5 yrs ago. Once the ticket was paid, it showed up as a license suspension on my MVR, for the 5 yrs that it was issued...
So even tho I had a valid license for that 5 yrs, my MVR says differently when you look at it, and since it was recent (got it cleared in 12/11 so its been a year) i'm guessing something like this is gonna really limit my options, if I can even get hired at all

yeah a question would be good huh lol sorry
do companies even hire people with recent license suspensions? i went thru a few comany sites, tho only found 2 that actually listed suspensions in their qualifications and they showed it had to be 3 yrs. -

I doubt trucking companies are looking to avoid guys like you. If you explain yourself, I'd bet that you'd find people willing to make an exception for you.

My co-driver had his license suspended when he switched insurance companies, the old one reported him as having no insurance and in FL they immediately suspend your license for that. He got it cleared up but it still showed on his MVR. He got hired 6 months after the suspension, after explaining that it was a clerical error and not a moving violation, etc that caused the suspension.

Then the company that hired him doesn't use DAC 'cause it doesn't matter what a driver says if DAC indicates otherwise. Most companies use DAC these days. Otherwise, it must have occurred some time ago. -
Best regards
