Roehl Transport, No Complaints?

I just wanted to find out what everyone thought of Roehl. I have been asking around a lot and looking in the forums. I havent seen any real complaints about them. The reason I am asking is because I just got my pre - exceptence letter from them to drive for them as soon as I get out of TDDS.
Anyone have any comments or stories about Roehl - Good or Bad?

there was a guy around making lots of complaints about them but after reading all of his posts it wasn't hard to figure out he would probaly have problems anywhere.
They seem to be a real solid company. I'm cosidering going on there 7/7 program when I move. There will be ups and downs anywhere but there record seems to speak for itself

A pre-hire with them doesn't mean much. The second background check is where they weed out a lot of folks. They are picky and that should tell you something.

i am submitting my app to roehl this weekend... what do they do on a 2nd background check? seems like a waste of time... why not just do one thorough check?

the first one is just a quick mvr, like the school. the second time is your complete criminal history. if you had a felony 100 years ago, your S.O.L.. They wait to see if you want to work for them before they do the background check because it involves more time and money$$.

When do they start doing the second back ground check, and what do they look for then?

When you get a pre-hire letter, there's a "Call by this date:" part. once you call and say "yeah, I'm sure" then the second-tier hoops come down to be leapt through.

I can't tell you what are deal-breakers for them. I'm an incredibly boring man, with an incredibly boring history. Being unemployed for the last 3 years, wasn't an issue for Roehl.

a staffmember at my school, mentioned that another student was turned down by Roehl, because, they went back 5 years, as opposed to 3 years, which is standard. I only half-heard the statement. I assume that's the MVR check.

well im between roehl and gordon trucking both companys seem to be a place that you can hang around for a year or two without A. getting fired or B. getting burnt out on the BS that they serve you on a silver platter i have a blank MVR nothing on it but me getting my license i have no G.E.D but can pass an ABT with flying colors ive had fairly stable work history only gaps are of about 3-6 months mainly due to the fact i dident really need a job at that time and i have 0 criminal history misdameanor or felony do you think i have a shot or will not having a G.E.D break the deal right then and there?

really new

I am starting cdl school in 4 days, I am 54 yrs old . A woman my wife works with (they are both RN's in a nursing home) introduced me to this other couple as he and I were both down sized from GM (me ) and American Axel (him) in the Buffalo area, hes in tool and die and I was a machinist. To make this quick we thought it might be interesting to team drive for Roehl, in our area, we would be doing the flat bed thing in the great lakes area.(Him and ME) Maybe interesting isnt the right word for it. If anyone is interested in seeing all of this unfold , from school to the Roehl experience just say so and i will try to keep posting for all of you . After reading all 55 pages on here about Roehl Trucking and their reputation I wonder if this is something anyone else knows about. I guess the stares we will be getting at some of the trucks stops will be even more interesting tho. Anyway if you would like to see all this unfold , just give me a reply...(NOT the brokeback truckers)

Since this was just brought back and I saw it too...

I spoke to a guy who runs for Heartland Exp. and he ran for Roehl for 9yrs or more before this. He said the ONLY reason he left for H.E. was the lack of mileage with Roehl. He was happy otherwise and having put up with whatever comes along for 9 or more years.... Can hardly complain, wouldn't you think?

So, for those 2 who were interested at the start, are you working for Roehl or what?
