Some trucks have fridges, most do not. Never seen a company truck with built in microwave. Stop by a walmart to get a fridge and microwave, much cheaper than truck stops. Some shippers and receivers have driver's lounges with microwaves.

A fridge and a microwave make life on the road ALOT better, imo.
Stay safe. -
I was fortunate enough to have a microwave in my last OTR truck, as well as fridge. It does make life a lot easier. I've yet to see a major fleet truck with a microwave. You can get them, if you have a suitable inverter for the task. The catch - most companies won't allow you to install one.

for the most part NO they will not have them
walmart, lowes, home depot for the refrigerator.... but look at the truck before you even think about getting one to see what will fit home depot has some that are 1/2 smaller and for some truck it fits
microwave just go to walmart and don't get one to big 800-900 is best 600-700 almost can't pop popcorn and over 900 is realy to much
you will need a 1500 watt invertor and as some said the company must install it or they will fire you for have it.....
don't use the microwave without unpluging the refrigerator 1st.... the reason is that yes a 1500 watt invertor will run both at the same time but if the mirco is running and the fridge STARTS it will over porwer the invertor for 1-5sec in the long run it will burn out the invertor. so what we do is just unplug the fridge until after we are done cooking then plug it back in..... that same goes for using other heating things (coffer maker, frying pan, ect)DoneYourWay Thanks this. -
Thanks for the great detailed information Flood i didnt know about the 1500 watt invertor.
Cheers ! -

What starter/beginner companies have these inverters in them. If a company doesn't have or allow inverters in there trucks how do you cook food or keep drinks/food cold or frozen. Do you need them for your heat or air conditioning and seris xm radio or a cd player and a T.V. as well as a laptop or tablet computer and what about your cell phone.I'm looking at companies but I want from what I've learned to have an inverter for cooking basic living ect. Also when do you get these items when you are issued your truck?
-
most "Mega" companies will not provide those kinds of comfort items. you'll be lucky if they will let you idle or have an APU to provide heat and A/C, when on break.
I'm home on weekends and live out of a 12v cooler.
