| Refused to test? Doesn't seem logical to me, afterall how long does it take to pee in a cup? Why couldn't you just go potty before going to the hotel to lay down? I am sure they would have taken you to the front of the line if you told them you were feeling sick. As for being sick, I have had this new flu as well. It is horrible, I was down at home for 2 weeks and almost hospitalized myself. I have been back on the road for the past week and a half but am still recovering. From what I understand this flu actually last for a full month. At no time during my illness did I lose the ability to pee in a cup! Rethink your arguement as it is not sound! I am sorry if I seem un-sympathatic however drugs and drinking do not go with driving and the testing system is put there to protect us the un-suspecting population from this type of driver! I was hit by a drunk driver 20 years ago. I still suffer pain today from injuries I received in that accident. My nephew was killed by a drunk driver in 2001. So no I have no sympathy for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol! No driver should! ![]() ![]() :bigg rin_25513: |

| If your post was left for me its almost a year late and in my situation it turned out that i had refused a pre employment drug test and it was at a time when the big companys were not reporting to DAC due to the number of lawsuites they were being hit with you might say that I got extremly lucky and so I was able to get on with another company where I have been driving for almost a year I have since taken 2 drug tests and now knowing the seriousness of them I don't ever intend refuse or fail one . I have since learned that the big companys were able to get something done so that they are not liable for what they report to DAC, I do not know this for a fact but I do think they are back to reporting everything so I would not want to be a driver reported of refusing a random drug test its a death sentence. |
| |||
| It's a death sentence? It is a death sentence. If a driver is clean there is no reason to refuse a drug or alcohol screening. Drugs, alcohol and driving Kill. |
| |||
| You may have trouble. Even if you were not eluding a drug test, if they said you were, it's probably on your DAC. Get a copy of your DAC and take a look to see. You'll have to fight it before you apply elsewhere I'm sure.. |
| |||
| Since you were never actually "employed" by the company, chances of reporting to DAC is slim, although you never know what some companies will do. Buck and a Half was correct in stating that you should have taken it anyway and just explained to the physician that you were sick at the time. Since that didn't happen, I would get a statement from your regular doctor stating the facts of your sickness at the time, in case you need verification later on with other potential employers. |

| I wonder if ya'll know that some big companys are starting to require a hair sample drug test.DOT is talking about MANDATING this test before 2008 is out. Have never heard of a way to beat a hair test. |
| ||||
| Good, I don't want a test that someone can beat and be out there driving! Hair tests are great, there's no performance anxiety to get a sample, they are difficult to fake. Generally the companies that do the hair test will use the hair next to the root, not the hair at the ends that is years old. Of course, when you get a bald/shaved head guy coming in, then there are some difficulties. |
| |||
| hair drug test 'Have never heard of a way to beat a hair test' Guess you could shave your head? |

So my question is this... since a hair test will potentially reveal drug use over a period of months, what period of time is considered to still to be a positive result? There are no drugs out there that no matter one's historical use will still have effects over that period of time. If the test is for instance a pre-employment screen, is the point to determine drug use EVER? Or to determine potential driving under the influence?
