Not my first choice

The adventure begins. My buddy finished Swift orientation today, and now he's waiting for his driver number. Once he gets his number, he will go out with a mentor for 42 days.
I report to orientation on June 5th, since I've been a local driver for 12+ years. I may be able to get away with just doing a road test, before teaming with my buddy. Otherwise, I'll have to go out with a mentor for 1-2 weeks before teaming up.
Since my buddy went through a school to get his CDL, he chose to go with a sponsor. Since the only choices for sponsorship were Swift, or CRST. We chose Swift. Now he has a 12 month obligation to them. So, as you can see. Not my first choice.

Don't be surprised if things don't go exactly as you planned. Good luck!

Well, I know swift will mess with you a lot. They are better than CRST though.

Good Luck.

I'm confused. Your friend got his CDL on his own and only had two choices of companies? Can you explain this a little more? There are many more companies that have training programs for newbies that got their license on their own.
