My husband went to CR England for school everything was going good. Now he on his last phase and needs to get home to transfer his CDL to his home state. He has less then a week. They wont let him get off the truck till he answers a 3 question module that they didn't even give him the books to study for. His trainer says if he just jumps off the truck he will be charged with abandoning equipment and wont be able to use his CDL for 3 years. Is this true or is he just trying to scare him into staying. He really doesn't want to loss his CDL he has been gone almost 3 months no home time. He has worked really hard to get this far. What can he do?

So he's currently with his trainer? If so I don't see how he can be charged with abandoning the equipment.Your trainer is with the trk and trl.Abandoning means you leave the trk and trl somewhere and the company sends a recovery driver to come get it.He may get charged with a service failure if leaving while under a load. What's the 3 question module?

Ask his trainer where he dreamed up the "wont be able to use his CDL for 3 years" and if he is getting the US MARSHALS to enforce it :)

All it ( abandoned equipment on DAC ) does is make things hard for a driver to get DECENT employment with companies that us DAC .

Yes he's still with the trainer. The module is some sort of test that to test their knowledge on what's in the books or knowledge. On driving. He had to do a similar module in his first phase and he didn't pass so he ended having to stay on the truck another week. Its very frustrating cuz we are having are first baby in 2 weeks and they just keep him driving.

I know it sucks but its not a good idea to just up and leave.England may get him for quitting.Which then means he has a bill to pay for his schooling and if he doesnt keep up on the payments england may take him to court and take his CDL.

One thing's for sure . If he quits CRE after getting his CDL through their school he will owe them $3,000 unles he paid the tuition in advance . They will not certify his training until the tuition is paid . Since he has his CDL there is nothing CRE can do to have his CDL suspended .
A lot of drivers leave CRE early and all carriers know it . He should try applying to smaller carriers . Try food services like Sysco or coke or Pepsi

    WTH are you talking about??

They have as much right to his CDL as I do. England didn't issue his CDL, the STATE did. Where do you dream this stuff up at?

He went with them cuz they called him back and he wanted to be able to take care of his baby and make sure he has what is needed. We didn't do enough research on this place cuz if we would of known this we would of found a different school.
