Grumpy, I don't think you offended anybody, and apologies are certainly not needed... I simply was having difficulty reading your posts, and most people (with certain exceptions) who take the time and effort to post, likely have something of value to contribute... so I'd like to see what that is.

| Thanx "Truckin" I try to be as courteous in here as I am on the big road. I think that's has alot to do with the bad turn our industry has taken in the last ten years. Everybody has to be first and their load is more important than yours, mine and even Billy Joe Jim Bob's! lol. I would like to see it get back to the way it was in the late 70's and early 80's. I know it will never happen but it sure is nice to think about the good ole days. Well I'll shut up for now, if there is anything that I can help with please let me know.

| If I wanted to be home on weekends, I wouldn't be driving a truck. What most drivers seem to want is to be union freight haulers with 20+ years of seniority. They are home often, drive decent equipment and make really good wages ($75,000 per year) plus great benefits. Unfortunately, most can't get on with a union outfit and even if they do, they can't survive the first five years of part-time ("casual") employment. The answer is to unionize, but drivers won't do that because they are afraid they'll lose the jobs they claim are so lousy. What drivers want more than anything else is to gripe, whine and complain. They do that quite well and often. |

| "Those of us who've been around awhile don't expect everything handed to us. We just want the opportunity to make decent money, see the house once in awhile, and be treated like human beings." This is what I want from trucking. |

| Amen. Spoken with the true American Dream at heart. Work hard, treat people with kindness and consideracy. Hope for karma to reciprocate. Sad part is, most people get stepped on and have to settle for the downstairs of the portapotty... once that happens, the powers that be subdivide their johns because they see a market. Anyone that can find a place in life that honors hard work and personal integrity has found a piece of paradise. |
