It all sounds pretty basic...as for the prostate check...I have a history of colon cancer in my family and I am over 40, so the dr. usually does the prostate exam. I just grab both sides of the table shed a tear and then it is over.

weight

Hi,

For this DOT test are they looking at weight for a special reason and not just for records? I am overweight by government standards. I am 6'0", and weigh from 280 and 300lbs. That's really my only worry. I do eat too many fried foods too. I can cut that out though.

I have known several 300 lb drivers. There is no weight limit; however, a DOT physician is required to notice "marked overweight". Scroll down to "Body System - General Appearance".

Thanks for that information. I forgot there is one other thing. My vision isn't so good. I think it's 20/70 without glasses. It's great with glasses though. I haven't gone out and looked but do drivers have glasses?

Personally I think the doc was just a pervert as I'v never heard of this being done to anyone else for a dot phys.

Oh and I have to have a tb test but that's because I'm in hospitals all day with my job.

As for the drug test it is urinalisis. Don't wak in with a pocket full of things because you will have to empty your pockets. Plus they will make you wait a god long time first so that f you are hiding urine it gets cold as they do test the temp also. Oh and they also test the urin for sugar to ook or diabetis.
As far as the urine test goes, you said they will make you wait a long time so the urine gets cold.....
If the urine is in a quality zip-lock baggy and kept in the crotch area then there is no worry about it getting cold as it will maintain a tempature equal to your body heat.

The doctor that gave you the physical should still have a copy of it in their records. Give them a call and maybe they can make another copy for you. Old habit from my former driving life I will carry over on this go around as well, carry one long form with me and keep another in the fire proof box at the house just in case.

Ask your company they will have a copy. I think you can use a copy of it, not sure.

A copy is fine. Both the doctor and the company will have a copy of the long form. Whether the company will provide it to you is questionable. Some of them are very protective of it if they paid for it.
