| I've heard of it happening, but not very often. It sounds like these are B.S. stipulations to cover the state's rear. example: "Driver Joe Mamma was cited for idle time. He then turned his truck off, and died of heat/cold while trying to sleep" the state would then say "Well, we DO allow it for health. He coulda run his truck." Cops and states look at us truckers like shooting fish in barrel. Many of them target truckers cause they KNOW we're unlikely to fight the citation. Who's gonna stick around to fight a $200 ticket if doing so costs them $800 in lost revenue? Only the guy who'se about to lose his job over ticket record........ Sad and cynical, but too often true! Sounds like this is more of the same. Keep in mind too, that drivers are by nature diverse/unique! I'm in the Pacific N.W. Summper temps where I grew up RARELY rise above 80deg. Winters rarely below 30..... What's hot/cold to me is NOTHING compared to what's hot/cold to a res of phoenix. Auxiliary equipment could mean the reefer unit, ACU, etc. Last edited by rangerman1; 04.18.2007 at 05.26 AM. |

| Most states have exemptions forwhen temps get low. Some are WAY too low though. Out east perticularily. Auxilary equipment would be like a refer unit which has to run. This is the major reason I don't run out east. I have a list here with state by state regulations and what temps you can start ideling at etc but I don't have a way to scan it. |
