I'm looking into Central Ref. to start with their training class and I've read that they have a pretty quick class in regards to learning to operate the truck. I've been driving stick all of my life, so I'm not new to a manual trans, but I wanted to get some "pre-tips" on double clutching. I've been watching a lot of videos and I've even been practicing in my personal vehicle a little bit (although not too much as I know the trans are totally different and I don't want to blow out my clutch). If you're comfortable in a manual trans on a four wheeler, is making the shift to a tractor tough in regards to double clutching? I want to be as prepared as possible when I get down there!

I personally found it harder if you were use to a clutch in a 4 wheeler. Reason being is that in a car you clutch then change gears, in a truck, you do it at the same time. Which is why you clutch, hit N, Clutch hit the gear. Try not to over think it, or you will second guess your self and shift like ur car and have problems, just my thoughts

Don't push down to hard on the clutch just 1/4 to 1/2 down should allow you to clutch back in when trying to get into a different gear. The clutch will talk to you and if you feel metal to metal grinding then your speed and rpm are not right for the gear you are trying to get it into. Try a different gear.

try learning how to drive the truck before trying to double clutch, stay away from the jake while you are at it. its winter and you have enough to learn, and those two things will get you in trouble fast.

by looking at your truck looks like you are pulling a lot of lite loads, in urban areas. going up parley going east with 45,000 in the box and losing RPM trying to double clutch can go wrong for you fast,and if you have chains on only makes it worse.

I have come over Parley more than one with 44k of produce. Cabbage too, Tehachipi Grapevine, Soldier summit... lots of.mtn grades.
That still doesn't answer the question of how he is supposed to shift the truck... -
up-shifting while double clutching is not so hard. you'll get it down after 3-4 hours behind the wheel. it's a rhythm... tap clutch, neutral, tap clutch, gear.
downshifting is the beezy of driving a 10 speed -
i would try by taking a little slack out of the clutch pedal and putting it in the next gear range. but being a rookie with about nine million miles am still trying to learn. you missed the point altogether. when you get old cant get see so good, your truck looked like a east coast freight truck to me.
