? Arrow or Crete

I'm a newbie and I'm trying to decide which company to drive for. Arrow or Crete? Which do you think would be the best for my first year? And which would be the best down the road?

Arrow or Crete?

Thanks, both companies seem to have good reps. Arrow is alot smaller company is a plus, and you get a little more exercise with flatbeds. But Crete might be better in the long run. What does everybody think?

crete or arrow?

worked for both - crete is a bit anal (no power inverters over 300 watts, 65 mph. trucks, and much emphasis on "compliance") and you will spend lots of time in the north east.

arrow - about 300% turnover. i only hated them about half the time when i worked there, but these days - "happy arrow drivers" is the thinnest book in the library .

Kinda difficult for anyone to really give you the answer you're looking for. What is a plus for one person may be a minus for another. One persons dream job is hell for someone else. Try doing a side by side analysis of both companies and go with the one that meets the most of your "must have" requirements. That will narrow down the field somewhat for you. But, until you actually start working for someone it's still a crap shoot. Deciding which company to start out with seems to be the hardest decision to make, for me anyway. Good luck.

I hope you read this before you make a huge mistake, do not go with Arrow. I know nothing about Crete but I can tell you Arrow is not a good place to go, nothing but lies and company policies, they may hve been a good company years ago but the are a terrible joke of a company now. Very piss poor miles, almost a fight to get home for hometime, they do not maintain there equipment resulting in breakdowns, piss poor dot safety rating resulting in inspections, and every thing they tell you is going to be contradicted by everything they tell you the next day. pleas do not make that mistake. Flatbed is good but not with Arrow.

Thumbs up Good luck

I have to echo Pyro.. Stay away from Arrow. And I hope you haven't done anything you'll regret before seeing these post.

But, I must add some additional info. Check into other divisions of Crete, like Shaffer. EVERYONE (well not everyone)tells me the same thing about these interlinked companies Crete, Shaffer, & Hunt. They get good pay, good home time, and good benefits.

On the negative side...they are VERY VERY strict with compliance. So much so, they will compare your QualComm GPS updates against your logs. You won't lose your job, just your safety bonus. A friend lost his that way. He was PO'd to say the least. But he wouldn't quit, says they treat him to good, to worry about chump change.

Check into regional oppurtunities for the best results. Especially if you want $$ and hometime.
