When the kids stops telling it. Here you go, go find a better company than Chevron to drive for. Much Much better than any small company.

Are you a recruiter for one of those $35,000 and a ruined record companies? Why do you doubt that this is possible. I guarantee you I made $50,000 my first two years as well as the guys I went to school with who hired on at the same time. $68,000 is a little much for the midwest, though. Our hamburgers don't cost 8 dollars, either.

answer: is it tmc???? roflmao!!!

they must flip a dozen of those between waterloo and cedar rapids on the 380 every winter...

I dunno. SNI offered me $750/week salaried for local/regional/dedicated - right out of school. Yeah, that's not $50K - but it's also SNI.

I had a local gashauler offer me 55K year in writing. No experience. Until an experienced driver asked for the job, of course. I don't begrudge him the job, but I wish he'd waited 4 days.

I wasnt talking about you, i was talking about the other storyteller. the one who thinks it is a matter of national security to say where he works. Now granted, i dont expect anybody to say where they work if they choose not to. I respect that choice. I bet $50k is possible. I hope it is, because it sure beat the $34,000/hr casino deal i had where you wouldnt/couldnt get promoted without a little brown nosing. and that is one thing i WILL NOT ever do.

An average rookie will make between $24k-36k/1st yr.

There are those that may make more than $40k/yr, but as a general rule- a good chunk, about 60% of nub's will only make above stated, while only about 20-25% will make more than that. The rest won't even make $20/k/yr.

Looks like i am going to bust my butt for the first year. So what if i am only 'home' 4 days of the month, or working 2 solid weeks straight. My plan is to bust my butt, and by the end of the year, have a good chunk of my debt paid off. The rest will be paid by my b-day next year. (in april). Then I can put away 50% of my check into savings, and when I get ready in 4-5 to become and o/o, I could put down a nice downpayment on a 2015 Peterbilt. Hey, maybe by then they'll hover. like in back to the future.

okay, i must really know something. I just saw on another post that some guy has been working for Swift for over a year, and earns just 500/week. Can you tell me if this is what i should expect my first year??? I was just called by a casino east of me, and probably asked for an interview and offered a job. I can tell you, in the casino business, as a dealer, i'll make no more than $32-35k. I want to go where the money is the best. I dont want to end up driving, and then come to find out, i barely make 300-400/week for a year or two. Cause that just isnt going to cut it. i HONESTLY need to know what to expect. I dont expect to make $50k out of the gate, but i've gotta make $40k. let me know...post and/or PM me please. i've gotta make a decision here in a few days. thanx

I made 7-9 with transport america... weekends off

18 months later... I make 850-1200 home every night and weekends off.

trucking will definately pay better than dealing. oops legal dealing...hehehe

you just have to apply yourself... and find your niche...
