Smiley 1 Learners permit

I know I need to go and get my learners permit. Kinda makes me feel like a kid again. Anyway my question is how long is the permit good for after you get it? Is there like a time limit? When I took my pvt pilots test the written was good for 2 yrs. I had to do my practical flight test with an FAA check pilot before the the two yrs were up on my written test. Yes I did pass my flight test the second time the first time I kinda scared the guy with my landings over a 50' obstacle. I know driving a truck is different. Thanks for the replies and comments. petesout

(c) Learner's permit. State learners' permits, issued for limited time periods according to State requirements, shall be considered valid commercial drivers' licenses for purposes of behind-the-wheel training on public roads or highways, if the following minimum conditions are met:

I believe every State may vary.

I got my permit on 14 FEB. In the GREAT state of South Dakota , they are good for six months and can be renewed only once in a two year period.

In Texas its good indefinitely. The written exams are only good for 90 days but the permit doesn't expire.

I think in most states it is only valid for 6 months. Also in some states after your on your second permit you will have a 1 year waiting period before you can get a third permit. So basically get your liscense ASAP it will be cheaper.
