Two Weeks To Go

This is an update to some of the last logs I made back when I was looking for a school. I'm now in my forth week of training and have two more to go. Have been training for about a week now in the Houston traffic and I guess I'm doing OK. Haven't killed anyone yet. Still getting used to the down shifting without grinding gears. The more I drive the more I enjoy it. There certainly is a heck of allot more to it than one sees from simply watching a driver from a four wheeler. Although I find the challenge exciting. The Instructor wants to send me to my first road test this coming week. Passed all my written tests to include Haz-Mat, Tankers and Doubles/Triples. I'm in the process of filling out applications and hope to have a few pre-hire letters by graduation. I can't say enough about this school. It's a no ######## school. Although we have light hearted times once in a while when it comes to the training the instructors will not hesitate to chew your ### in order to teach the correct methods. This school is not for someone who wants to be a slacker or who expects to get by without putting 100% effort into it. We'll be taking our school test this coming week, which we have to pass in order to get our PTDI certificate.

I sure have learned allot and still have a long way to go, but i want to again thank all of your for your input. This helped me to make the right decision regarding which school I atended.

If anyone has any suggestions on local companies that are hiring around the Houston Area, I'd sure like to hear from you.

Thanks again and I'll be in touch.

good that you ain't killed anyone YET. you never will either.
i've been to houston, dallas, fort worth, no more traffic there than anyplace else. wait till you come up here in the north east area......

this is how transmissions higher than 5 gears was made. the more grinding drivers did, the more gears got "created" inside the tranny, till the manufacturers built them. someday, we will have 100 speed transmissions.
