I had to take a lifting test as part of the pre-hire phase with Sysco. I did okay with lifting from floor to waist height for 5, 30, 50 and 75 lb. weights. However, when it came to lifting the weights to a shelf over my head, the physical therapist stopped me at the 50 lb. mark...but the only thing she would say is that I was doing moves to "overcompensate." Now I swear to you all: the only thing I did was move my hand from the side of the box to the bottom so I could hoist it over my head.
Whatever her reasons were for stopping the exam aren't what I am trying to discuss/debate here. My point is that she didn't really explain what counted as the overcompensation, so I was wondering if there were any videos online that might help me pass this lifting test the second time around. (I am scheduled to go back on May 9th.) So far the only videos on lifting that I have found are showing me what I already know: how to lift from the floor with your legs. I need to get those 50 and 75 lb. weights to a shelf OVER my head.
I will keep looking myself, but in the meantime I would appreciate it if anyone else out there knew where I could get some assistance.
Lifting Test: does anyone know of any videos online that could help me with this?
