2 part question; Part 1 I thought for awhile now that a slew of no fault accidents was going to kill me as a driver, however my MVR shows none of them, and I was told that the with a clear MVR the only way that anyone will know about them is if I tell them, True? Seems so because I was prehired by a company that ran my background before calling and said I was good. My app expired then I reapplied and did not fully disclose all the accidents, my info was ran and it came back thumbs up. Part 2: I don't have a ton of money to go to orientation with, over all until I'm driving alone most all my money will need to find it's way back home. How much money does one need per week to get by on the road as a driver? I understand showers cost 10 bucks and that you get maybe 2 a week, by 7 weeks theres 140.00 during the 7 week training............. Any insight would be greatly appreciated
BTW I'm as of now going with Navajo Express, Any thoughts? recruiter was ready to have me on my way Monday, called me Friday and had not looked over my app yet that seemed off............
How Much $?

Showers should be free....Generally they are free with 50 gallon fuel purchase. Your trainer should be able to give you all the free showers you want (at least that's how we do it at TMC.)
Food is a big expence ont he road. If you have a fridge you can save money, but truckstops are expensive.T-Train-Swain Thanks this. -
Dont pay for showers just get 50 gal. of fuel and free. Buy small easy to make food and cases of soda/water at walmart and not the high priced truckstops. I spent $80 on groceries this week and that is enough for 2 weeks or maybe more. Keep some cash for whatever you need outside of meals.

Personally, I wouldn't work for any truckload, otr company and no, your accidents won't show. You're clear to work for a good company. Why sell yourself short??? If I did settle for one of these outfits, they'd better have some upfront money, a nice car to travel to orientation, a decent motel to stay at with a lounge and a beautiful blond waiting for for me when I finished my aggravating day listening to BS for 8 hours.

Yea, don't let your trainer tell you that you owe him for the shower. I heard of a Swifty trainer doing that to a rookie. I also heard that a male trainer for Werner told a female student they had to share the shower. If he wants you to go in there with him, then something's rotten in Denmark.
As for food, stock up whenever you can at Wal mart. He's right about truckstop food. You are probably going to get tired of pilot chili dogs in the near future. Good luck to you.T-Train-Swain and mje Thank this. -
TMC? Hows that working out? Man do they have some gnarly lookin trucks.. Love the look. Howevver I've heard it's like a dictatorship... Still may give them a shot.

This is obviously an ###ININE Question, but even with a trainer, stopping at wally world or the competitions store is pretty much a no fail deal. I'm not gonna be told to go f myself when i say hey can i make a quick run into wally world so I can have some grubbage? I hate to sound like a pansy but the CDL school made the training process sound like it's you with adolf hitler & fidel castros ####### love child in the passenger seat and god forbid you sneeze they pull the lever and eject you as you motor on down the road.

Just a useful tip: 2 showers a week is not near enough.
