Here is my question. I had tested positive on a drug test for non DOT related job about year and a half ago, will that be put in my safety performance history report from that employer when they get the paper work from my prospective employer for a driving job for the safety performance history report?

A previous employer is not allowed to share any info about your job unless you sign a waiver allowing them to discuss your "personal file" with your perspective employer

Yes your company will put that on your safety performance history and what you can do is that tell them you didn't work for that period of time and you have not done any drug screen test and if they ask you for unemployment proof just tell them you didn't collect unemployment or tell them you work for a private company give them the company name and the number of your buddy, hope this help.

Thanks for the info. Looks like I might be screwed for this new job. They have my current work history allready. I know I screwed up it was just a bad time in my life not that is a good reason. my girlfriend of 5 years left me 6 months after getting married. She left me with the house and all the bills. My dad was dying of cancer at the same time I struggled for as long as I could but was not making enough money to cover all the bills without her there to contribute so the bank was foreclosing. I made some bad choices smoked some weed at a party and got a random drug test at work it was a couple of weeks after I smoked I passed in a cup and was released to work untell the lab test came back. I was hoping to change my life and do somthing I've dreamed to do all my life and drive a big rig. I know I can never do any thing like that as long as I'm a drive but its so worth it do for fill a dream. I finally had the money because my father died last year and left me just enough money to go to trucking school so made the choice and invested in a new career. I feel like it would be better to be a fellon for armed robbery than fail a drug test when it comes to gettin a trucking job.

Prove to a court of law that you're clean. If you can manage that, then they might expunge your record.
