Many truck stops now have reserved parking.
    Pay-for-a-space-in-advance.

I'm curious how this is going over with long-time, or newer, drivers.

yeah thats what he is talking about

I personally dont pay to park, I will choose a rest area or pull out, if im going to pay to sleep I would rather fork out a little more and get a cheap hotel room with a shower, wifi, more comfortable bed etc.

I use it late at night being the usually empty. Most people dont, there will be 10 reserve it spots and trucks will park all over the place blocking entrances and exits.

I do agree with some when your in the northeast the spots can be valuable, I know I had a hard time parking up there before, every little service plaza would be full.
I dont run to the Northeast often though, been staying Western regional now

Only if I am in the Northeast will I do that. I'll hook it online earlier in the day so I don't have to fight for a parking spot. I think it's a good idea.

Ya northest is hard to find a spot later in the evening. But they do have a way of packing themselfs in like sardines. I use a pocket truck stop giude. doesnt list 100% however I find the longer I drove the more other spots I could park.

I usually won't, but if I am at that TA getting a PM service or some sort of repair, I will pay for parking to insure I have a parking spot. The easiest thing to do is get a motel room with truck parking.

I use the pocket truck stop guide too, I thought about making one of my own guides eventually since I find a lot of places that are not listed such as picnic areas, some very large truck turn outs etc.

Dont they offer a year rate for reserved parking?

also not every hotel has parking for rig and trailer, bobtail yeah

I use the truck stop guide, but also write notes in it. S= subway m&p=mom and pop restaurant, after type stop. Em= park only if no other place, closed strip malls or gas stations that don't have no parking signs. I've added picnic areas, new rest areas and restaurants with parking and walmarts or other places with parking. I also use my google map, I add stars to the places we really like, it often picks up gas stations that have parking but aren't listed as truck stops.

That said we have only ever paid for that reserved parking once, he was out of hours with no place else to go.
