| Schneider I'd like to hear from divers who are currently driving or have driven for Schneider. What do you think of Schneider for a newbie to get into a truck driving career?  |

| Not very many good choices for "newbies".If your going to make a mistake,you might as well do it right and go with "SNI".

| If, for whatever reason, you need to go with a training company I think Schneider is your best bet. I tried to get on with them but I live more than 50 miles away from I-5 so they wouldn't play. They're definitely the lesser of all evils in the training company arena. |

| I just quit schneider but all in all they are good to there employees. read my post warning to newbies first but if you still decide to do it sni is a good company and has good training. |

My last employer (10 years) had me flying all over the country, and out of the country from time to time. It takes a certain personality type to be able to handle the solitude that comes from any line of work where you are out on your own for extended periods. I personally enjoy it. I am divorced (ya the traveling had something to with it) and my kids are all older now. There's really no reason why I'd even want to spend most of my time off here. I've been to some really cool places and some other places I really have no desire to go back to. So I know what I'm getting into. As long as I can pay the ex every month and save something, I'm good with it. Thanks for the heads up though... Travelin' sure aint for everyone, that's for sure. |

| I'm in Schneider's Training Academy right now. I tell you...it's an intense training schedule, but you'll be shocked at just how much you learn. We even have some people in our class who have already graduated from other training programs, and they are taking away more knowledge than they had coming in. But like I said...it's intense...almost hectic. -J |

| I took alot of knowledge with me when I left SNI, if it hadn't been for the extended periods away from home, and the small runs they gave me on the weekends I worked I'd probably be there still... When or if you start looking at other companies after you graduate the SNI course, your learning experience goes along way with other companies, I was told the training was similar to 2 years of otr, slightly exagerated though, as nothing can replace the actual, all by yourself experience on the road... Good luck |
