Does anyone know how trucking companies treat the "Wet & Reckless" considering it's not even a crime in most other states? I was living in a Cali for awhile and got pulled over on suspicion, because I was about to turn one way and then realized I had to turn another. It was dark and I wasn't familiar with the area. When the cop pulled me over, he smelt alcohol on my breath. I blew a .03.

Anyways, so I was convicted of Wet & Reckless in November of '09 and had a temporary Cali-issued license suspended. It was only effective in Cali, and even then only when I was silly enough to show my temporary license as opposed to the one I had at the time, a Texas DL. I have no idea how long they suspended this fake Cali license, but I know I just renewed my license where I am currently at, in Iowa, and I had no issues with the DMV.

Did you fight that charge considering the legal limit is .08?

there is no reason you should of gotten a wet and reckless... you weren't close to the legal limit. Heck my sister blew over the limit once and got that reduced to a wet and reckless... I would of fought that one tooth and nail

I think you're playing with fire here not knowing the outcome of your license suspension. It's not the companies that you will have problems with it may be the law. Find out exactly what happened and go from there. It would be just ignorant to not do anything and drive a CMV.

Nope. Plead no contest and got the hell out of dodge. I already had to sit in jail for a week because I was from out-of-state, and you're not granted bail if you're from out-of-state.

I got hired by Swift back in '11 and went to their trucking school, but when I went to the DMV Cali still, at that time, at a hold on my license, so I couldn't get my CDL permit. Two-years later, I just got my permit in Iowa today, so I assume everything is resolved.

You should get that mess straightened out or you could find yourself sitting at a scale house somewhere, out of service. Then the company will fire you.

That's a tough one; seems like if there is a problem, Iowa would have seen it.

I'd call the CA DMV and make sure everything is resolved. Never assume the person on the other end did their job, especially when dealing with government employees in California. They're all a bunch of lazy #####

You will have to get it straightened out or you may be denied a CDL. I got a speeding ticket way back in 1989 in North Carolina, went to court and paid it. Some time later NC sent a check in the mail paying me back along with a letter stating I am not allowed to drive in their state ever again. I didn't care at the time as I was about to get out of the Marines and go home to California.

Fast forward to 2010, I was in trucking school technology caught up and all the states communicate with each other, there was glitch with my getting a CDL. Called up NC and had to pay a little $52 dollar fine to clear their books.
