yeah some people are bassholes, I picked up a load near Denver, CO and the trailer lights were not working and it was preloaded, took it to the terminal at 10am, finally left with it fixed the next morning at 7am all because the last driver couldnt report the problem and get it fixed, when I have a problem I get it done, leaving it to the next driver just leaves you karma for later.... -
I like many others have spent way to much of our time fixing #### that others pawn off. I hope you both get fired if you are going to pass it off. No excuse not to call road service. In a hurry to get home is not a valid reason to wait. Your co driver is a POS and so are you for going along with it. Grow some balls, stand up for whats right, and make the #### phone call.
Flatbedn, skootertrashr6, MackDaddyMark and 12 others Thank this. -
well said wandering
We have to look out for each other, we all want to get home, we all want to get paid etc, sometimes we all have to take some ##### too, just suck it up.
my last home time was 2 days late but I still got my loads done in a safe manor!Wanderingaimlessly Thanks this. -
Backing up to slide tandems when one pin or more is still engaged will cause the trailer to lift as others have said. Causing air bags and shock damage.
On our newer trailer there is a heavy duty 2" nylon strap wrapped 360 degrees around the shock to prevent moron drivers from doing such damage.
Sometimes you have to rock it to release tension on the pins to let them retract before the tandems will slide. But more than an inch or three of lift and you have moved out of driver status and into the moron category.
The same thing with the idiots that practically have it in third gear sliding tandems back. When they hit the stop it registers 3.0 on the Richter scale!

Who did the post trip inspection? I bet they didn't even write it up...

I have to rock all the time to get my tandems released, I have the luck of getting a lot of older trailers, had one where one pin would not stay in, had to use a screw driver to push it in and over a little and do one hole at a time, that one was a #####!
Even with all the rocking I do there has never been damage, when sliding tandems I always use 1st gear and I dont give it too much force. -
