Too many things to list that are going wrong with trucking. Idiots that should not be driving a truck, low pay scale, dispatcher that take revenge on you for the slightest thing they don't like and leave you sitting, traffic, the USDOT has declared war on our profession as well...I'm sure there's more but I don't want to get all riled up. ;-)

The lack of veteran drivers stresses me . It seems like everyone out here anymore is a new driver .

It used to be an old man was a old driver now most old men are trainees !!! I won't even go into what the 3-5 so called veterans are like .

It is the same old story everywhere it has become a hooray for me and screw you world . I can say I have more problems with truck driving idiots than any four wheelers any more . Used to be if I saw a truck coming I knew I didn't have to worry but the last 10 years I see a truck coming I I know he is going to try to take off my hood by coming over as soon as he can !!!!

Not sure what you consider a veteran, but I love every single day of this job. I worked the really hard physical jobs as a kid, and later on in life got the really impressive fancy office jobs on the top floor wearing a suit and getting my ### kissed, so I have worked all types of jobs and love trucking. A lot of truckers who have been driving since they were 16 haven't experienced other jobs to realize that all jobs have negatives. The minor negative things that pop up every now and then in trucking I just take care of and keep going.

So if you are a lazy whiner then you will not like trucking, but if you are a positive person who loves the travel and meet new people, see amazing scenery, like something new to talk about on a daily basis, then trucking is great. Also, if you are married with kids then trucking is really hard, or if you are a super family guy who wants to be home for every holiday, then trucking is hard. If you are like me and like to have hot girlfriends all over the US, then you will love trucking.

not so much stress me but more just bother me greatly sometimes...

Watching the 90% of first time other truck owners fail, blaming everything but themselves, when it is in fact their own fault for allowing themselves get into the situation that caused their failure.

Watching that driver parked next to you roll out of his bunk and crawl into the c-store of the truck stop, later returning with a 12-pack of beer, downing 4 of them for breakfast, then cranking his truck and driving off.

watching trucks tailgate each other and/or 4-wheelers at 70+ MPH.

walking across a truck-stop parkinglot at 3-am, it 65 degrees outside and nice weather, yet there are 300 trucks idling all night wasting fuel.

That California state trooper that just let the dulie-pickup with an oversized camper, pulling a car that is towing a 25-foot sail boat go past him at 85-mph down that steep grade so that he can pull over that big truck for going 57-mph.

Having to go through the 'Mexican Scanner' just south-east of el-paso,TX, having to convince the Mexican border patrol agent that I am American. I tell my wife they are looking for illegal immigrants so that they can enlist them as new border patrol agents.

watching the fatty who just took a dump in the bathroom walk out without washing his hands, heading straight for the truck-stop buffet.

    the list goes on,...Rawze

Its all good drivers.I stress out also but I also no that without us lowlife truck drivers operating where would this nation be. Think about this when the railroad needs something quickly they hire a truck. That dot ### couldnt get to work if a tanker didnt bring fuel. Nobody except the truck drivers would have fuel and the materials to build a city. We could actually control everything in the USA if we wanted to. I always ask the dot officer why he carries a gun. I never get an answer.
