Soooo....Swift a DOT Physical before you go, done at an approved clinic and within 30 days of the day you arrive. I obtained my Class A Learner's Permit last week and had my 2 year DOT Physical done 8/22, which was a little more than 2 weeks ago. but because it wasn't done at an approved clinic I was told I need to get another physical done at the clinic of swifts choice...at the cost of $70 ....again...even though I have a valid DOT Physical Long Form and Medical Card from Primecare... that I literally just paid $70 for...which the DMV had NOOOOO problem with ..hence my CDL Permit....so why is this not good enough for Swift..Lets say the physical I had done was done at an approved clinic, by the time I get out there it would have been over 30 days old and I would need to get another physical done before I leave even though I still have 23 months remaining on my current VALID DOT Physical Long Form and Medical Card.. again , good enough for the DMV but not for Swift...

The good news is that Swift will pay for your new physical.
The bad new is you have to go back and stand in line at the DMV and submit the new long form. -
Want a laugh? I did the same thing..... and used their doctor/clinic. Still had to redo it...... (6 yrs ago). GTI did the same thing a year and a 1/2 ago.

I totally agree with the OP.
If a person had a LEGITIMATE physical with BONA FIDE doctors approved by both the state DMV and the D.O.T., why should Swift, or any other trucking company for that matter, make the applicant go through the whole process of getting a physical all over again? The 2 year medical card issued to the OP is already "signed, sealed, and delivered".
One would think that this would make the trucking companies happy campers because they do NOT have to go through the economic expense or hassle of awaiting for the applicants results, especially if they have already been legally and legitimately obtained.
God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!fr8te_sh8ker and GeorgeDee Thank this. -
