homework help

anyone got a site with info about tankers? i dont have a study book from the dmv yet, and every search i do comes up with crap about remote control cars, and scale models for railroads.

all the unanswered questions i have yet to do are regarding tire fires, and fires regarding the actual tanker (hazmat related, but not part of the hazmat curricula) itself.

I was told most tire fires are preventable with just checking your tires regualary check for proper inflation, that they are not touching each other rubbing against anything.

I was told if you have a hazmat fire or tanker fire park the truck off the road and preferably away from people and places and then run like he::.

If you have a tire that is getting hot on any hazmat load you have to remove it and place a safe distance from the load. Now you will never remove the tire yourself but you need to get road service to do it you are not to drive with a tire that is overheating. any more ?'s please post and we will try to answer them as best as we can.

6. what is a remote control on a tanker and whats its purpose?

the instructor said think like kill switch at a gas pump, so id assume that it would kill the electricity going to the tanker?

11. if a fire breaks out at the manifold on a tanker unloading flammables, what is the first step in controlling the flow of the liquid?

id assume theres a valve that would stop the flow you should turn if the fire permits it, otherwise, gah, kill the power again?

18. if stalled, wrecked, or upset, what are the first things to do?

id assume get away from the vehicle, get your triangles out, and phone for help whilst doing so.

29. How close can you drive to a brush fire?

Literature says park no closer than 300 feet, driving the same? doesnt seem logical, if youre driving somewhere theres a brushfire, the brush usually isnt that far from the road, so turn around and hotstep (no pun intended) out of there?

theres another one that asks how likely fires are to occur, but not in what relation, so im not gonna mess with that one til tomorrow.
