Hi, my name is Vero, and I'm not a trucker, but I have a trucker friend and he posted a challenge this morning and I have been going bonkers all day trying to figure it out. Can someone help me please? Here is the question....
Simple math challenge for my non-cryo friends. I'll even give a conversion to make it a little easier.
1 gallon = 93.11 scf (standard cubic feet)
A 11,300 gallon (vertical) liquid nitrogen storage tank is full at 95% capacity @ 130psi. The beginning level is 19 inches (of water) @ 130psi. It is full @ 230 inches (of water) @ 130psi. The final level is 172 inches (of water) @ 130psi. How many scf was transferred to the storage tank?
Round to the nearest hundred scf.
Thank you in advance for any help
(not so) simple question

(not so) simple answer
699910.45 scf
But you are fired for putting water in a liquid nitrogen tank.
Plus nitrogen tanks are rounded on the ends for strength which changes the per inch thingy. But we'll pretend the tank is uniform with flat ends. -
pfffftttt you call that an answer???? lacks creativityCharli Girl, truckon and CondoCruiser Thank this. -
Just because you flunked your math final and drew pink polka dotted elephants on the test page doesn't make it right. F stands for Failure not Fantastic!!
