When i was otr i used a plug in gridle. I was able to male all kinds of food, quesodillas, hotdogs, burgers, etc i aslo tryed bbqing onba camping stove. One of the little ones. I used that outside the truck during spring and summer. It was ok.

Just wish they still sold the small oven bags... those worked great in the 12v ovens. Most of the crockpot bags are for the giant sized crockpots - a bit much for one driver.

I use Clorox Anywhere spray for cleaning when I can't get to the shower right away to wash dishes. It's food safe so you don't need to rinse anything afterwards.
And totally aside - the Max Burton stoves are great, but if you have a little ethnic supermarket near your home, it's worth checking out. The same stove (runs the same cans of fuel) at a little Asian mart near me in Laredo (yeah, I know...that's an odd sentence) was $14.99 vs $39.99 at TA/Petro. Watch for sales on the fuel cans at chrome shops and Petros. My husband has a knack of finding them for $2 a can and stocking us both up.

Here is a suggestion that will eliminate the worry of carbon monoxide or the the chance of the propane blowing up in your face. If you have an inverter in your truck, go to walmart and buy an electric frying pan. My girlfriend and I cooked out of ours for months, you can make #### anything you can put in a frying pan at home. When your done cooking, wipe it out and clean it with a little water while it is warm and it will clean up for the next use. This saves money to start, not mention the truck stop food is over priced and stale, not mention just plain sucks.

Butane is different than propane, btw... it's the same stuff a BIC lighter runs on. Flammable, of course, and don't stab the can of it. But like anything it's perfectly safe if you follow the directions. It's also the same way many caterers cook onsite.

Electric skillets work great.... so do microwaves. If you have an inverter big enough to power it. My 1000W won't handle much more than my coffee pot, but the upside to butane is it also cools down an awful lot faster. Had an electric griddle and stove I ran when IdleAire was in it's heyday.... those took forever to cool down to pack away. 5 minutes and my burner and pot are good to go back in the cabinet on the butane.

The cool thing is, there's more than one way to skin a cat depending on the tools you have available.

A smaller wattage microwave is better if you can find one, the ones they have now days maybe up to 1300 watts compared to 20 yrs ago. We found one at Walmart a few years ago, it just takes a little longer to cook some foods.

Small microwave is good if you have an API
