Here is a tip for those that love corn on the cob and have a microwave. You can cook it perfectly, as much as I hate to admit it and hate to cook in a microwave, with your microwave AND YOU DONT HAVE TO SHUCK IT OR SCRAPE THE FINE SILK OFF OF IT. Simply place the entire ear in the microwave and cook at full power for 5 minutes. When you take it out cut it about one inch from the big end. This is important do not cut the top of it. cut it about an inch, practice will tell you where to cut it next time, then grabbing the small end (or top of the ear) squeeze the shucks until the corn pops out clean and pretty ready for salt butter or what ever else you may put on it

Any drivers got any simple recipes I've never eaten much celery, and seeing as we are in the Middle of summer I don't see the point on splashing out on a crock just yet , but when I do should I purchase one in walmart or a truckstop !and wouldnt mind getting some tips and recipes for the winter season I do like rice and all meats and veggies ...

I'm gonna be installing a microwave so I can start of eating TV dinners but also as soon as I buy a fridge will be cooking fresh and using microwave to reheat

I've been eating fresh for a year now, after getting a 12V cooler. I toyed with adding cooking implements, but never got around to it. Then I discovered I like my produce raw and it's more filling. Now I read about folks on something called a raw vegan diet and that is close to what I eat, but with the addition of hard boiled eggs, canned fish, yoghurt, and game meat jerky if I can find it. Along the way I lost weight, and feel great.

Lean ground beef onions maybe some corn bell peppers seasoning some microwave rice

You can make this in a crockpot BUT to get the grease out, which is the cause of major indegestion I would recommend frying it in an electric skillet, which I would consider extremely necessary for any truck cooking.
Taco Soup
2# lean ground beef
2 - medium onions chopped
2 - pods of garlic minced (you can use the minced garlic in a jar if you do use about 1-2 TBSP's depending on taste)
2 - cans of Hunts fire roasted tomato's
1 - can Rotel regular
2 - cans of Black Beans
2- cans of sweet corn
1 - pkg of ranch dressing mix
1 - pkg of taco seasoning mix ( I always use McCormacks)
Fry your meat, onions, and garlic in an electric skillet and DRAIN WELL
Place cooked meat, tomato's, Rotel, taco seasoning, and ranch dressing MIX in a crockpot on high (please dont make ranch dressing with the mix first and add that....yes i have heard of someone doing that just add dry mix)
Stir well
Drain the juice off of the beans and the corn and add them to the crockpot as well. (At home I always put them in a colander and rinse to get rid of some of the chemicals and sodium off the beans)
cook until bubbling. Normally when I do it on the stove it is ready to eat within 15 minutes of adding everything together.
This is an incredible comfort food that goes great with chips, grated cheese, sour cream. Being Cajun we like ours a little hotter so we always add a chopped jalepeno while frying the meat but its up to your taste.
Even if you half this recipe still use one pkg of taco and ranch dressing mix

I'm sure this has been covered already but I just couldn't get all the way through all the pages of replies. My company doesn't allow the larger inverters but when I'm stopped could I hook it to the red and black terminals where the cb hooks up without blowing a fuse? Did anyone get around to making a "trucker cookbook"? I don't ever go home, the truck is my house, so I can't bring food with me premade. Any advice would be great on what I can do to eat healthier and cheaper.

Walmart has everything you need to eat healthy and even has truck parking for you to access it.
If you're at a J and hungry, walk over to the pizza and look down. There you'll see some OK salads, cheese and boiled eggs. It's not sexy but better than that 60% breaded/ 40% chicken or pizza. -
