Two things I use other than my microwave is my George Foreman grill and a Nu Wave oven. Both inexpensive and work great. If butane is used responsibly you should have no problems, plus it could be used for heat in an emergency.

for those of you that dont know there are lots of cooking shows on YouTube, i've posted allot of truckerwarrens cooking videos (he's a chef that cooks in his truck on the road). And oviously if your ever on YouTube you must know who/what "Epicmealtime" is. But ive recently found a new one with quick, simple meals and allot of which could be make in a truck here a link to his channel so you can check out some of the videos and i'll also post he most recent recipe just because you CAN do that in your truck in a crookpot.

If you do try any of these in your truck make sure you post back on here about how it worked out and what you had to do to make it in your truck.

    I learned this trick from an old trucker some time back, some of you may already know it but I'm gonna throw it out there;

    Defroster vents.
When we were going across country we'd keep a can of those big boy kinda soups, ya know, the one's that had the football players eating them? I can't remember the name...

Anywho, you keep that sucker on the def vent and it gets nice. When ya eat it, just put another up there for the next meal.

We only used soup but I cannot forsee why this wouldn't also work with Chef Boy Ardee stuff. Which, is SOO healthy for us lol

I'm not doing OTR stuff, home every night, but I'll tell ya..
I pack a bananna in my little cooler, a turkery sandwhich, 1 Mountain Dew, 2 bottles of water.

Only thing that has been really ate out of it was the bananna and Mt. Dew.
I've been eating the sandwhich when I get home after my shift.
So, it's drive, unload cement from tanker, while eating a bananna, finish up, open Mt. Dew, kill half of it, dump the other half out (can't have it splashing around while the cab is beating my brains out) and head to the yard. Usually about 3 hours away or so.

    but I love it

correct, post was for info of readers, I expect people like you will know that but what we are getting today is (seriously) pay $100 for bonus course on how to clean your rearview mirrors......and wanted to stave off those people from mis-directing anyone else, what I put up was not meant for people for whom such is obvious and as long as we are at it the ^absence^ of further law on the matter may suggest the obvious for you and me but as we know somebody somewhere probably wrote a reg on it ... ( and so on )

I also had one if these, lost it a few years ago, and I would GLADLY pay $100 for a replacement! I know I got mine at the 76 T/S on the Jersey side of I-78. That thing lasted for years and years, unlike the cheap junk they sell in truckstops these days.

DON'T cook anything in your cab that requires flame. Period.

I use a lunchbox oven, too. They go to 325 degrees in about 7 minutes and stays there until you unplug.

Here's one of my recipes for ya...
    Beef Noodle Surprise

    • Line the oven with Heavy Duty Aluminum Foil, and spray with Pam non-stick
    • Mix together a can of Corned Beef, Tomato Bisque and a few shakes of dried onions, and plug the oven for 1.5 hours
    • Open a container of Cup O Noodles and pour in hot water and cover for 3 minutes
    • Mix the noodles in with the corned beef mix and let cook for another 15 minutes.

I stop at Walmart to get most (98%) of my food and supplies.

It's surprising on how good this really is! I also season with hot sauce before eating.

Footnote* You can replace the corned beef with Subway Meatballs. I usually buy the footlong and garnish with real onion, green peppers and tomatoes and use them all in the recipe.

    Drive Safe!
