I worry some about those throw-away crock pot bags. I am very leery about heating plastics while cooking food in it,causing the chemicals to seep into my food.

My microwave is a 700 watt Emerson. I got it a Walmart. It's small, but I didn't need big for just me.

The 1.7 CU refrigerator I have runs just fine on a 300 watt inverter.

Mine doesn't rattle. Bunk squeaks like heck driving down the road, but that is a different issue.

I have the PowerDrive 2000 too. I just need to get it installed. I have the 300 watt one to run my refrigerator. I got a 750 too. Going to semi-retire the 300 and use the 750 for the frig, TV, DVD player MiFi and Laptop. Save the monster power draw when I make coffee.. :biggrin_25523:

I drive for Swift and still keep my little 400W inverter I had as a rookie here. Shops don't mind those so long as you don't try to put bigger fuses in the truck. Too many idiots burning trucks to the ground got our inverters banned.

I carry a coleman cooler, a Burton butane stove burner, a laundry "pantry" basket on the top bunk of spices and dry goods, and perishables in the cooler. Plus about 5g of bottled water at any given moment. I cook 85% of my own food.

Used to have the lunchbox ovens. Loved the new digital one, but it died in about two months. Not replacing it...prefer having a real stove burner. I do carry a 12v coffee pot. It's priceless when I'm on terminals and all we have is that crap coffee in the vending machines. (I also estimate it saves me about $10 a week in Pilot coffee!)

You will not find a microwave. The front outlet even with a 400W inverter really only pulls something like 200W at best. They make one in the truckstops that says it can run on 12v, but it's several hundred bucks and I seriously doubt it works. Life as a Swifty means you use the microwave in the truckstop, or learn to deal without. Get the butane burner, keep the windows down and a good nonstick pan. Dishes are super easy with some Clorox Anywhere food safe spray between shower days when I take them in with me and give a good scrubbing.

I have had a bit of luck with Amazon.com in getting 12v appliances, but in reality you probably won't find much outside of a truck stop or maybe an RV retailer. You can get the electric coolers at Walmart for a decent price. I've gotten just as good deals at the truckstops however, just by watching the sales and trying to buy in states with no sales tax (got my cooler in Oregon on sale with no sales tax for less than what Walmart was selling them for!)

Oh man... I know what you mean!
I went about 200 miles and stopped, and put a paper towel under the glass plate. It will still turn when I us it and it doesn't rattle as bad now.
