Hi all, I am new here. I know this may have been asked before however, I just got my cdl and the only company so far that will hire me is CR England. They still want me to go through thier two week course at $ 1500 even though I just completed a 304 hour course already. They say I will have a job with them but after reading all the bad posts on here about them I am not so sure. There just are not any companies that I have spoken to yet that will hire without atleast 6 month exp. Any advice?, thanks

I too will be a rookie soon. My question is as it seems that "some" trucking companies are using new drivers to move loads on the cheap is that really true? I mean it's one thing to pay low and see who sticks it out and another to "use" drivers and then let them go for bull*** reasons. I know I'll have to start out on the low end of the scale but can I really make a "normal" living after a probationary period or being a rookie get stuck with minimum wage loads. I see more negative post than I do positive ones. Any help would be appreciated.

So what I'm seeing is a plethora of "doom and gloom" for new drivers. I have solid emplyment right now, paying all bills, stacking some away for savings. Unfortunately, it's about as boring as watching paint dry. I logged over 250k miles in a straight truck back several years ago. Drove for nationwide marketing tours. Nothing like seeing the country through a windshield. I miss the road about as much as I learned to hate it. Those hours where yawning takes precedence, you're fighting your own mind to stay alert, and you're cussing the damn dispatchers for booking you a 12-hour drive that accounts for no fuel stops, scales, etc... Whew! Gotta get back on the road. No possibilities of clearing $100k? Anything close to $80k?
