Best sites to check road conditions?

As noted by several above, the state web sites are best for current road conditions. If he has a CB that will also be invaluable in bad conditions for more "up to date" information.

For general weather conditions I normally use weather.com (the Weather Channel web site). I click on "Maps" and run through the Classic Maps selection and their Driving Difficulty map. In the Classic Maps there are a variety of things to look at depending on the time of year. I often consult the Winds map in addition to Snow Coverage, High Temperatures, Low Temperatures, Wind Chill, etc. etc.

 

The Mayor of Indianapolis was just on the news asking that all businesses close tomorrow because of weather conditions, so be sure to call ahead before heading this way tomorrow.

Was out in Montana heading to Duffield,AB a few years back. Weather got bad and oversized guys had to park. We were sitting and waiting at a truckstop for a green light from the state. We got it and we were walking out of the restaurant.

Six: Hand, we got a green light. You coming?

Hand: Can't. Promised the wife I wouldn't drive today.

First and foremost, get an APP for the weather channel on your phone- it's extremely helpful. I never had time while on the road to browse the internet for road conditions but the weather channel app have never disappointed me, yet.
