So on recent home time during training, I got my hazmat endo as required to do by my company

. The state of NC gives a temporary paper license to use in conjunction with your old license in the mean time. When my training finished up next week I planned on getting my new license on home time. So fleet manager calls today says compliance says license is expired and I can't drive. (In Utah right now) Explain that license is not expired. Just can't haul hazmat til I get my new hard copy license. Get transferred to compliance office and explain this again to which her response is. I have 1500 drivers and I've never heard of this. I then call Raleigh DMV headquarters and they agreed that I can still drive. Just can't haul hazmat.Call compliance again she says she has to talk to her supervisor and then call the DMV herself but that the fleet manager should have routed me to my house days ago. I then called my fleet manager and say well I can get the license mailed to the post office here next day delivery. He says no were gonna give a solo run to my trainer. I explain how I won't make money and that compliance said I should have been routed home days ago to which my fleet manager in charge of TRAINING said that its my license, my responsibility. Of course the offices are closed now and they still haven't sent the new load on Qualcomm for my trainer so I'm a little angry. In short the higher ups here are incapable of understanding that my license is valid and I just can't run hazmat.

Everything on the new license at home as verified by DMV is the same as my old hardcopy one. The only difference is the hazmat endorsement. For some reason HQ can't get that fact thru their thick heads

How did Compliance get a response from NC DMV that your license was expired, when they told you that it was not? That was the root cause.
Sounds like they are the ones that got this ball rolling.....and from there it went from bad to worse.

I had contacted the DMV to verify that i could still drive with my old license and just not haul hazmat, because the lady at compliance didn't believe me that my license was still valid and that I just couldn't haul hazmat. Pretty much my paper license that had my hazmat endorsement expired. That's all

tennessee does the same thing but they told me it would be same as having the hard copy. i asked this question because i was aggravated over paying $80 for a piece of paper. lol. they told me it was the same. it still took me a little over 2 weeks to get mine back in the mail. i think it ridiculous but what can you do?

I ran for over two weeks on my paper one the license numbers where the same and DMV reported it valid your DM could have called local cops and had them run the number off the paper and been told it was a valid license. heck I was allowed to run hazmat on the paper I know because I was pulled in to the TN scales with two 250 propane tanks behind my head and there was no problem they ran the numbers just like on the hard copy it showed I had my hazmat. But maybe I was just lucky

That's exactly what I tried to explain to Compliance. The numbers are the same and the expiration dates on my old license and the one waiting at home are the same. Gotta wait til morning and speak to the manager of compliance office instead of the mindless sheep answering the phone. two more days of driving needed before I was eligible to upgrade and the green weenie from the Marines tracked me down for one last Oorah.

Sounds like it's much easier to get what they want in the first place. No offense but you're going to have a hard battle your way up if you challenge the company even if you're right.
