| Parking Rig During HomeTime Hi folks!  Roehl has accepted me for an orientation date in August (Or earlier if I get a school test date sooner, NETTTS in Somers, CT is backed up with dates! Stricter state regs. has more students failing) But during the application run through on the phone, they mentioned that I need to have a place to park the tractor sometimes with the trailer. Also during winter months I have to have access to a power source so the block doesn't freeze. I live in an apartment complex, a tractor I can do but not a trailer. I asked if they had an account with Walmart so I could park there but they said either way I would have to ask permission. That still does not solve the power source issue. Does anyone have strategies of their own to solve this? Thank you.   |

| i asked the manager at the econo-lodge near my house to park in their truck parking area once a month. i live in Florida LOL so i cant help ya with the block heater issue.

| Pat had that all figured out ahead of time. That is why he went with a company that seldom gets you home!  I park at a airport. They have a empty lot that truckers use. Make sure you get permission before you park anywhere. Most companies want to know the addy of the place the truck will be when you are home.

| That all depends on where you are if you really need a block heater. In NC not so much. My apartment complex has a problem with reefers, and I got into it with their security volunteer. He reminded me three times that he was a cop, on the fourth time I said, "Are you telling me as a private citizen or as an officer of the law?" I just park my truck over at the Walmart, far easier and less headache. |

| In order for my boyfriend to bring his truck home, we had to submit a letter from the owner of the parking lot that we use that showed the address where it would be parked, what type of lot it was, and that he did indeed have permission to bring it home. Look around your area and see where you could possibly park. When I approached my community center for permission, I asked if I could rent a parking space. The woman was very nice and said that she saw no need to charge me for it. |

| We live in Northern Ohio - defiantely need the heater - luckily we have a small farm and he just parks it by the barn - he calls ahead of time so I can blow the drive (anything for my hubby). Look around, maybe someone has a shed with electric and wouldn't mind you parking there, we've had other guys put their trucks at the barn - they give me $20 and I let them park there! Yeah, I'm cheap!! LOL (just kidding) One guy parks his car in the barn, and when he comes home, he just parks the truck and jumps into his car and goes home. He rents and his landlord doesn't want the truck in their driveway. |

| when im home i just park in the ditch or if i actully have to ill back it into the yard when i was doin outside construction...the econo lodge manager in anaconda let us plug in our camper and 2 semi's every nite for $5 a day find someplace that would be easy to get in and out of...with a plug in nearby...then talk to them and offer to pay alittle something ( free labor for shoveling the sidewalk or something)....it never hurts to ask, and you stand to gain alot with maybe alittle work |

| I realize that this bit of history does not apply to anyone here. Nevertheless, when I was Chippewa's only driver in Ottawa, IL, in 1970, the local Freightliner dealership installed a 220 volt outlet on the outside of their wash bay just for us. I suppose that we rented it, but we did not get service or repair from the dealership. Occasionally, I made a run with a Mack B model and my instructions were to plug in for the weekend and leave the engine idling. Eventually, Chippewa rented five doors at the former Associated terminal in Ottawa. |
