I keep hearing about cab cards that come with an EOBR. What are they and what information do they contain. Can anyone show me one? What is the purpose of them? I'm not sure what they are, so sorry if there is super sensitive information on them.

The government has a big computer. It can track you. Some of the numbers they think are irrelevant. But we can find you. And we can help.
You can google the EOBR and see their video. As computers become more evasive in our lives the idea of logging will become less important. This appears to be one such move. They are going to know what your log should look like. They will no what speeds you travel and where your shift points are. That sort of thing.
Now it does have the ability to scan your finger prints when you grab onto the steering wheel. It checks those finger prints against a "Michael Snowden" proof data file to check to see if there are any known radical Muslim connections. If so, the FBI is notified and the black helicopters are dispatched.
I have noticed that the Radical Muslims are against nudity. So to be safe, I would advise all those concerned to send me a picture of their girlfriends via private message.Moosetek13 Thanks this. -
the cab card for the EOBR tells the officer how to access your logs. It is required.
slim shady and VisionLogistics Thank this. -
yep just a basic almost cardboard like card that has a picture of the e-log computer on it and shows how to access the log and things of that nature... I just recently had a level 2 inspection and the officer just had me show him my graph of my log and was only really concerned that I wasn't in violation of the 8 hour rest break rule

Yes mine is the deluxe model, it's laminated and it's got some pretty pictures on it describing the unit, but when I offer it to the DOT man, he tells me he's not interested in the card and wants me to show him how this thing works. I guess the DOT guys IQ isn't up to snuff so in order not to embarrass him, I give him a quick demonstration on the ins and outs.
After that he's quite impressed. Always good to have a laminated card and not one of those flimsy things that fall apart., -

I spent 45 mins with a WVA DOT officer walking him through the system.

I think the DOT guy when he's doing the inspection/checking of E logs does that on purpose, where he wants the driver to show him how the log works. After all, the driver is REQUIRED to know how it works in order to use it and keep legal. So they want the driver to "show me". A driver in my company apparently got a ticket because he didn't know how to properly access his 8 day logs.
As a side note, my EOBR can be setup for "audit mode". I assume they are all like this. Make sure you know how to set it up for a roadside inspection/audit mode. If not, then changes could accidentally be made to non certified logs, and other sensitive data, which is hidden by the audit mode, can be seen by the officer. It's in the drivers best interest to set the EOBR in audit mode before either handing over, or personally showing, an officer his E logs.
