Im wondering about if you have a fridge in the truck or somthing that needs to be running 24/7, is there a separate battery for things like that, or can you leave the battery on while you sleep without it dieing? Also when you want to use somthing like a laptop same questions, or is idleing involved?

Yes you can run fridge without killing the batteries. For a short time (24-36 hrs) No there are no seperate batteries.
I typically idled my truck when using the microwave or coffee pot. They both sucked the juice, and would not put out 100% unless I did idle. Everything else worked fine without idling.
Just be sure to get a large enough invertor to handle the things you wish to run. -
Can you fill us in on the invertor...what it does...size...etc?
Thanks

I have one for my automobile. It just plugs into the ciggarette lighter. But mine is so small that it doesn't run a curling iron. I assume it wouldn't run a coffee pot either. I didn't even know they make them larger and more powerful. I guess it makes sense that a huge truck would have more juice to power up an inverter. It's just basically a box that has some outlets in it. Mine has 2 outlets. But I'll bet they make bigger ones that could be bought in truck stops or online etc.
I'm not out there working yet. I'm just guessing by what I've read here.

Yeah I dont know what I was thinking. Makes me wonder what all types of goodies and devices people have in their trucks..what people bring along. Also dont know how many outlets there are in a cab.

Hello.. I bought it for trips. We use it to run the laptop..the passengers that is. Just because some woman put their makeup on in the mornings during rush hour traffic doesn't mean we all do. In fact, I don't wear makeup. As far as the curling iron goes, it's nice to freshen up after riding in a car for hours and hours. But it doesn't work anyway.

I hope I'm not supposed to start a new thread, seems along the same lines. How hard is it to get wireless access on a pc and do they work at all in remote areas? I can take apart my own pc at home but know virtually nothing about wireless.
Thanks,

Goodies in a trcuk include.... Laptop or full PC. X-Box or PS2/3...DVD player, TV, crock pots, electric skillets, grill sandwich makers, mini fridge, microwave, coffee pot, and a lot more.
Invertors come in all sizes... I have a 1500 watt that peaks at 2500. 3 outlets, it connects directly to the batteries. A cigerette lighter plug will not provide the needed amperage. You can buy Invertors as large as 4000 watt...and 5 outlets -
