I wouldn't think so since you are not even REQUIRED to take a 34 hour reset, just take a 10 and carry on with life

I was thinking your in violation of the 14 hour rule regaurdless of what you do. Extra time off doesn't compensate for extra hours. Sol either tear that page out and throw it away or take one on the chin. Course if you take 7 days off then you wouldn't have to show that if asked for past logs and then an audit would be your only worry.

Are you working oilfields in a state which has a separate HOS for oilfield vehicles?

16 hr exemption is for local drivers only not otr...and that is only an extension of 14 hr clock
