My husband has high BP and takes med's.... it's a non-issue. He's told every company that he's applied to and it hasn't been a problem.
Most app's have a disclaimer stating that all the information of the app is true and correct to the best of your knowledge, some go on to say that anything false can be a reason to be terminated, Other's I guess it's implied. So if it asked about medical history, including high BP and you didn't mark it...... it could be used as an excuse down the road. IMO -
thats what im afraid of, if i tell them now then they will no that i wasnt truthful on my app (i know its my fault) but if i dont say anything could they find out with background checks?

Hey John, I'm working through Mike in recruiting. He seems very helpful and has answered every question I've had so far, as truthfully as I think he can. I had a question about them checking for creaking/popping joints in their physical, over the weekend and he got back to me asap this morning, telling me the following:
"Any time you have concerns about our physical testing, we give you the opportunity to speak with our HR department to discuss the specifics before scheduling your orientation. They work very closely with the clinic that does our testing, so if you need any type of paperwork or documentation, they would let you know up front so there are no surprises once you begin the testing. We typically have them contact you once we start processing your application"
Take that either direction you like, in this case; I think being open would be more help. It's not like you're taking a hair follicle drug test for a medication you were prescribed, but rather this is a physical ailment that will/might be evident in your physical. Gather paperwork, prescriptions, ECT.johndavis Thanks this. -

Make sure your bp is below 140/80 also. Even though you are on bp meds there still is a limit even on those that will fail you. When you go for orientation, stay away from the high sugar drinks and foods, stay away from high salt foods, don't eat canned tomatoes or sauces because they are higher in salt than fresh, don't be loading up on caffeine, drink some water with lemon if you have too to stay hydrated more. Get some sleep.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but with the regs on med certificates, soon when you go to the dr (they have to be registered as a dot med cert dr) the info will be sent to the state as soon as you go to the dr and has to be filed by dr by days end. You have to send your med certi now to the state cdl division and keep it sent in before it expires or your cdl will be suspended. All of this will be on computer and if you are stopped by dot and you are not in compliance, you will be put oos..
