Fresh out of school, got my class A. Being 21 really limits where I can start, anyone have recommendations? Good on medical, no criminal, one speeding ticket almost at 3 years( 49 in a 40 ), and honestly any pay is fine; just looking for a good training and decent dry-van work.

Who has a better training program?

Halvor Lines Inc. - hires at 21
deBoer Transportation - no age requirement listed

If you're dead set on dry van, Con-way is probably as good as any.

If you can get on with Con-way Truckload, go for that. It's probably the best company for new drivers. Or not so new, for that matter. I work for them, and it's a good place to work. I got 150K miles in 14 months, and was home about 6 days/month. Independent contractor. So I could have run 11K/month or more, no problem, every month, and that's good. Good pay, on time and no BS.

Just checked Con-Way's website. No moving violations within 5 years.... :biggrin_2557: Maybe in a few years

Navajo Express is refrigerated, but hauls out of Florida. They hire at 21 and probably cut some slack on the ticket.

Kid, if that moving violation wasn't in a commercial vehicle, you have nothing to lose by contacting a Conway recruiter and asking them. To a certain degree, it might depend on how much they want new drivers at the time. Otherwise, Swift will probably love you.
